My work lately has been all over the map - from the night sky to more personal inspirations. That's where I've been and that's about where it's going. I had a few more porcelain pieces I have been meaning to paint and being on Spring Break made for good timing to get them done.
The first few nights of break were spent going for lovely quiet walks with the moon keeping me company. It got me to thinking of that song, "Dance by the Light of the Moon," that is sung by James Stewart and Donna Reed when they play budding high school sweethearts in the movie, It's a Wonderful Life.
The moon also makes me think of the quote from J.R.R. Tolkien's, Lord of the Rings Book 1, "Not all those who wander are lost." -Sort of my motto in life really, being the wanderer that I am. The moon just seems like a constant for those who are free spirit wanderers.
With those inspirations in mind, here are two works I recently completed:
Close up of detailing - LOVE the irredescent ink that give the moon an extra special glow! |
