Got Holiday Cards?

Well, I guess it's that time.  

You know - that time of year when you dust off the old address book and cringe at the thought of never having got around to transferring that new address into it? Ok, so maybe that's just me.  Guilty.

This year, I'm on it.  All addresses are getting updated and card writing commences right away.  There might be several weeks before any of those holiday wishes need to reach mailboxes, but let's be serious.  Who writes all of their holiday cards in one sitting?  So I'm creating a system.  A caramel apple cider and card writing date with me, myself, and I once or twice a week until I'm done.  Don't hold me to it, but I'll try.

Isn’t it fun to hear from your friends the old fashioned way?  A hand written letter these days are treasures indeed.  Every once in a while, I get a little gem in the mail from a friend or family member on the West Coast.  When I see it, my heart instantly warms.  So much better than getting those pesky bills AND it becomes an immediate keep-sake I put away in my box of letters.

When I see a painting or photograph, I’m often reminded of someone I know.  Maybe it’s the color, or a funny memory is brought back to life for me, but I usually end up getting a print or card of it and send it along to that special individual.
