Embroidery? Yes, please!

Where has February gone?  One minute it's Valentine's Day and now March.  Time to get ready for St. Patty's day soon I think... Well, as soon as I finish this one project that has sent me over the moon.

Embroidery + Samplers = LOVE.

I'm hooked (with every pun intended).  I didn't know how easy it was or how proud it would make me feel to have a set of stitches that I made by hand.  Throw in a name or two, a flower here and there, maybe a bumble bee to boot and VOILA!  Instant loveliness created with a piece of fabric, string, and needle.  Pure joy.

Admittedly, I have a bit more work to do on the project, more flowers and honestly, I haven't even gotten to the bees, but the ideas are all safe in my head.

Here's what I have so far! Eeeeee! :0)

Valentine's Day In Bloom

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone! I'm getting ready for a nice quiet dinner tonight with the hubby who has been out of town for the past few days on business. I have a nice red wine, Mediterranean olives, and lovely little purple globes of grapes to start. For dinner its prawns with fresh basil and tomatoes over a bed of pasta with a persian cucumber, red onion, and balsamic vinegar salad.  To finish it off, Italian biscotti dipped in dark chocolate and strawberries with coffee, tea, port... whatever tickles the fancy.  Just thinking about all of this yummy goodness puts a smile on my face!  I love intimate celebrations - or any celebration for that matter. They're all excuses to be with loved ones if you ever needed one at all.

While I was at the local farmer's market, I picked up some really sweet ranunculus.  They're the perfect alternative to the ever classic rose for this holiday.  Sweet, compact pillows of blossoming petals and in all varieties of colors.  They are absolutely stunning AND the perfect touch to completing my celebration of love with the hubby.

Here's to you and yours - Happy Valentine's Day.
